The Future of Electric Mobility: VinFast’s Two-Wheeler Launch Plans in India

VinFast, the electric vehicle manufacturer from Vietnam, is set to introduce electric two-wheelers in India by 2026. Currently, the company offers over six models of electric scooters, including Evo, Feliz, Vero, and Klara, throughout South Asia.

Additionally, the company plans to launch a pair of two-wheelers in India. They have already commenced the sale of their cars in India this year (2025).


VinFast’s Strategy and Investment Plans in India

Pham Sanh Chau, the chief executive officer of VinFast, announced that the company began selling its cars in September, featuring two models, the VF 6 and VF 7, supported by approximately 26 dealerships. Many existing dealers have shown interest in also becoming dealers for the two-wheelers.

He revealed plans to invest around ₹16,000 crore in India, having already allocated $500 million in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu, for the establishment of a production facility.


Charging Infrastructure for VinFast Two-Wheelers

In preparation for the sale of its electric two-wheelers, VinFast has partnered with major players to provide more accessible charging options for customers. They aim to develop their own charging infrastructure as soon as possible.


VinFast’s Competitors in the Indian Two-Wheeler Market

VinFast will face competition from brands such as Bajaj, Ather Energy, TVS Motor, and Ola Electric.


Projected Pricing and Range for VinFast Electric Two-Wheelers

The anticipated price range for VinFast’s two-wheelers in India is expected to be between ₹80,000 and ₹1,20,000, with a range of 100 km to 190 km. This represents a significant shift in the electric two-wheeler market.
