Tata Motors has been observed testing the forthcoming version of the Tata Punch on Indian roads, heavily camouflaged. The spy images of the Tata Punch disclose the design language, which is set to align with Tata’s larger SUVs by incorporating the styling elements of the Nexon, Safari, and Harrier.
The distinctive LED headlamps integrated into the front bumper, as depicted in the spy photographs, suggest a more refined and contemporary design. The mid-size SUV is anticipated to present a sharper appearance with a redesigned grille and updated connected DRLs, in contrast to the current model’s more rugged aesthetic.
Interior Enhancements and New Features
The interior of the Tata Punch is also slated for significant updates. These enhancements may feature an illuminated steering wheel with cruise control functions, a two-tone cabin, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen display. Likely to be equipped with Tata’s latest infotainment system, Tata Motors is revamping the Punch’s technological offerings to maintain its competitiveness within the segment.
The Tata Punch may also incorporate additional features to outpace rivals in the market, such as a 360-degree camera, a blind spot monitoring system, and ventilated seating.
Side and Rear Design Aspects
Focusing on the side profile, the Tata Punch is equipped with 16-inch alloy wheels and may include flush door handles for an enhanced aesthetic appeal and improved overall design. While the dimensions of the Tata Punch remain consistent, its overall look appears more rejuvenated.
From the rear perspective, the design is largely obscured in the spy images. Nevertheless, the rear bumper seems to be mostly unchanged, with subtle modifications in curves and design elements.
Engine Options Remain the Same
The engine options for the Tata Punch will not change. The existing model features the same engine, which will be retained in the forthcoming facelift.
The Tata Punch will still be available with a 1.2-litre petrol engine, which is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 5-speed AMT. Additionally, a CNG variant will be offered, featuring a twin-cylinder configuration to ensure boot space efficiency.
Pricing and Launch Information
The new Tata Punch is anticipated to be priced slightly above the current model, which starts at approximately ₹5.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It will face competition from rivals such as the Hyundai Exter and Maruti Fronx.
The launch timeline for the Tata Punch facelift has not been officially announced, but it is projected to debut by mid-2026.
