India’s Biggest Electric Scooter Failure: Activa e & QC1 Sales Report

Finally, Honda has stopped the production of its Activa e and QC1 because of the biggest market failure in India. Honda manufactured 11,168 units and launched it in February 2025, but till now (November 2025), only 5,201 units were sold across India. After the GST 2.0 revision, it got huge discounts and many perks with it, but even after all these offers, Indian buyers didn’t prefer it. Out of 5,201 units sold, there were 4,461 units of QC1 and only 740 units were Activa e. It was a huge flop.

Honda Activa e → ₹1.17 lakh (ex-showroom)
Range → 102 km on a single charge

QC1 → ₹90,022 (ex-showroom)
Range → 80 km on a single charge

Another reason for getting discontinued are their rivals TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak. The production stopped could suggest that Honda may be changing its electric vehicle strategy for India. We can also say that lack of home charging and limited charging station network played an important role for slow sales.

Although Activa e is available only in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi, the QC1 is available in six cities → Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, and Chandigarh.

📌 Pro Tip for Viewers

If you are planning to buy any electric vehicle, then checkout Activa e and QC1 because after it gets discontinued and huge inventories are unsold, you will definitely get huge discounts on these products and many perks.
